1) Learn how to use Twitter to its full potential.
2) Using Diigo to its full potential.
I feel like I am moving forward on both of these goals. As for Twitter, I have learned how to do so much like posting tweets, removing people that I am following, and copying post. I feel like I am still not where I want to be yet. As I am reading other blogs, I see that the class has been tweeting but I am not receiving these tweets. As I tell my students all the time, I am a work in progress. As for using Diigo, I have learned so much. I can now put my information into groups like I created for my infographic project so everything is one place. Like Twitter, this is a work in progress and there is more to learn about both of these resources.
The resources for this week were really good. I especially liked Carol Dweck's interview and the video The Power of Belief talking about mindset. I have always believed that you should praise the process more than the final result. As I was listening to the interview and the talk, I was trying to decide which one I was a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. I believe I am a growth mindset because of two very important things. First, whenever I try something and someone says that is wrong, I always reply, "I am a work in progress. I am not finished yet." Even with the students, I will say something along the same line. The second thing that leads me to believe that I have a growth mindset is when giving the option of choosing working with a site I already know or working with a new site, I will choose working with a new site. For example, the curating activity for this course I could have chosen to work with a previous curating site but I chose to try the curating site batheweb. I feel if we keep using the same sites for different purposes then we are not learning to full potential. I, also, find that by using a variety of sites the new sites are easier to use- maybe it is just me. Hope everyone is doing well!
